Replacement cooler at Struik

Struik Foods asked us to replace a cooler during their summer break. In order to work properly, part of the side wall had to be removed. This was another great job!

Good preparation and planning

We took care of both horizontal and vertical transport of a 15 metre long JBT Cooler. Because the work location was difficult to reach and there was very little space inside the production area, we prepared this job in detail. We formulated an action plan in advance and organised it with the customer.

We arrived at the location with a trailer with the new cooler on it, via the yard of the adjacent farm, and over a lawn. There we lifted the new cooler from our trailer. Before that, we had laid road plates over the entire route, had the side wall removed and built a platform to be able to get the coolers out and back in horizontally. We brought the old cooler outside, lifted and loaded it onto the trailer and took it away. We then lifted the new cooler and brought it in on transport rollers. The turn inward was only just possible. We then placed the cooler in the correct position and the outer wall could be closed again. Evereything was finished within one week!

Various parties were involved and all steps had to be properly coordinated. Therefore decent project management was required. The cooler was successfully replaced, the customer was very happy with the thorough plan of approach in advance and has since entrusted us with various other tasks.
