Anniversary celebration

11 March 2024
Peter Schoenmaker

Monday March 4th was the day: Albert van de Scheur's 90th anniversary.

All colleagues were still recovering a bit because the weekend before we celebrated an extensive party for two days with customers, colleagues, family, old and new acquaintances.

There was a lot of fun for young and old, including a bouncy castle in the shape of a truck, a clown, a magician, good food and drinks, racing simulations, and even a big conga line! Our equipment was nicely arranged for visitors to take a good look and our first T-Ford was also restored especially for the anniversary.

We would like to thank everyone for coming! With the generous donations from our relations that we received for our anniversary, we were able to help various local charities.

We look back on a wonderful anniversary and are already looking forward to the next one. On to 100 years!

We recently completed a great assignment at KAVO Parts, a new customer. KAVO Parts specializes in car parts and was planning a move to another location within Apeldoorn. One and a half million parts had to be moved to the new location within two weeks. We spoke with Peter Bloemberg and Herald Nijenhuis of KAVO Parts, together with our director Peter Schoenmaker, about this major project, which had to be completed in a very short time.

How do you get a business location of such a large size to another location in two weeks?

That requires a lot of flexibility, but that is no problem for us. Peter: “We worked in 2 shifts for two weeks, 6 days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Because we are located on the same industrial estate and our need for storage is also growing, we were able to make a good combination of moving and storage."

How did the project go?

“The entire process went extremely smoothly and efficiently. Albert van de Scheur was able to adapt to our changing needs and ensured that everything went according to plan. We really appreciated their flexibility.”

It was clearly a challenging job. Peter, can you explain our approach to this project?

"We discussed the timeline with KAVO Parts in advance and went through the impact. We then prepared all the equipment and informed our colleagues that we had to transport a lot in a short time during this project. All in all, we transported more than 100 trailers full of goods and various reach trucks."

That undoubtedly required a lot of effort. Were there any special incidents during the project?

"Yes, in addition to a lot of transport and availability, we were also called last-minute to assist on a Saturday. Thanks to the efforts, involvement and flexibility of our colleagues, everything went according to schedule. We are now using the extra storage location for our customers with great satisfaction."

That sounds very positive, what do you think about the result?

“We are extremely pleased with the result. Not only did they meet the tight deadlines, but they did it without any damage to our goods. It was a huge project and the fact that everything went so smoothly gives us great confidence in Albert van de Scheur."

Nice to hear! Do you plan to work with Albert van de Scheur more often in the future?

"Absolutely, we plan to use Albert van de Scheur more often in the future. Their professionalism and social approach convinced us. They really think along with us and ensure that our needs are understood and met. This is exactly what we look for in a service provider, and we look forward to further collaborations."

A successful collaboration that leaves both parties looking forward to more. We look forward to the future work we can carry out for KAVO Parts. We will of course keep you informed of all the great projects we carry out throughout the year. So keep an eye on our channels for more information.

It won't be long until our new HMF 9520 is ready for use!

Our new four-axle Volvo FM was recently painted in our company colours. Now Hyva Netherlands will build on the crane.

With a mast length of 16.9m and a lifting capacity of 85 tonne metre this is a nice addition. Because of a limited total weight and thorough calculations together with Hyva, we will have maximum loading capacity.

With this extra loader crane, we will be even more flexible and versatile. And as a machine transport specialist, we will be able to serve you even better.

To be continued!

Collaboration in the spotlight: Owens Corning

05 April 2022
Jeroen Bongers

We carry out lifting and transport work for our customer Owens Corning on a frequent basis. We also take care of the storage of equipment for this regular customer.

Owens Corning is an American multi-national with many factories around the world. In Apeldoorn, Owens Corning develops and produces fiberglass products which are used mostly in construction, for example ceiling panels, floor covering and non-woven wallpaper. Maintenance Supervisor Bas Haverkamp tells us about how the cooperation with Albert van de Scheur is experienced at Owens Corning.

Long-term partner

“We have been very happy with Albert van de Scheur as a permanent partner for years. I have been working for Owens for 10 years now, but our company already did business with Albert van de Scheur before then.” The knowledge within Albert van de Scheur and having fixed points of contact are important features to Owens and we are very satisfied with these”.

Quick response

“We are happy with how the work is carried out. We like the fact that Albert van de Scheur has fixed points of contact, with extensive knowledge. They respond quickly to emails and telephone calls. In addition, priorities are answered and judged properly and quickly. What works well in the workplace is that there is little change in staff, so our people often get to work together with the same people.”

Happy 2022! We look back and ahead

02 January 2022
Peter Schoenmaker

2021 was of course dominated by corona within our company also. Fortunately, we were able to carry out all projects properly and safely. We do everything we can to be as flexible as possible and to be of service to you. Fortunately, that was also the case in 2021.

Looking back on 2021

We look back on a successful but dynamic year. Fortunately, despite all external factors, the industry is doing well, a lot is being invested and the manufacturing industry in the east of the Netherlands is growing.

We would also like to look back on the highlights in 2021, because we certainly saw some. The completion of our new warehouse is one of them. On the Laan van de Maagd in Apeldoorn-North, we have expanded our company with 1,500 square meters of storage space and a large outdoor area.

We have also been able to invest further in sustainability. For example, we have expanded our electric crane fleet with the JMG 160 MC and have had solar panels installed on our roof.

In addition to our own investments in sustainability and CO2 reduction, we see that many companies are working on sustainability. Our activities are increasingly related to sustainable projects. In this way we like to contribute to a better world.

In addition to a sustainable working method and good equipment, the craftsmanship of our colleagues is the basis to us. We were able to train new colleagues in 2021 and other colleagues were able to further develop themselves within our company.

Looking ahead to 2021

Looking ahead is a challenge at the moment. What we can already say is that our latest acquisition, a Volvo lorry with an HMF9520 loader crane of 85 tonne metres will be built and delivered in the first quarter. This allows us to further expand our crane fleet and make us even more versatile.

You will soon be able to access our new portal via our website. In the portal you simply upload and download the documents that belong to the equipment. Here you will also find important information about, for example, inspections. We expect to introduce the new portal to you in the first quarter of 2022.

Of course we are happy to share the latest developments within our family business and in the field with you. Follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram or keep an eye on our website.

An important step in sustainability at Albert van de Scheur! More than 320 solar panels have recently been installed at our main location on Tweelingenlaan. Now we generate more electricity than we use at all 3 locations and with our electric forklift trucks and compact cranes combined.

Our electric crane fleet was expanded last summer! And with a JMG 160 MC, a 16 ton meter compact crane. This titan makes us even more flexible, more versatile and more sustainable. Next to the Hoeflon C1, C6, C10 and C30, we now have a solution for every lifting job. Albert van de Scheur is ready for the future!

Partnership in the spotlight: TOMRA

05 October 2021
Peter Schoenmaker

Our customer TOMRA has commissioned us several times for various assignments for end customers. TOMRA is specialized in reverse vending systems. For work such as loading, unloading, hoisting, but also the positioning of Expert Lines, this customer has contacted us up to eight times in the past period. And we both remain very pleased with our cooperation.

Pleasant cooperation

In the past period we have mainly been working on the installation of Expert Lines. In short, these are counting lines for drinks packaging with deposits. From loading to transporting, unloading and lifting these products. TOMRA has entrusted us with all of these jobs. Project leader at TOMRA Robbert-Jan Meijer says: "The cooperation is always pleasant in our experience, which is why we return to Albert van de Scheur."

Returning customer

There are several reasons why TOMRA keeps coming back to us. Meijer: “Albert van de Scheur is a local company with specialists. They have a machine park that fully meets the wishes of TOMRA. The people at Albert van de Scheur have a flexible attitude and act quickly. They think in solutions and you can see that they are professional and knowledgeable in their field. It is also nice that they are easily contacted.”

At the moment, there are two further actions planned, which TOMRA intends to appoint us. "It is certainly possible that we will ask Albert van de Scheur to complete similar projects for us in the future, as we have experienced this company to be a pleasant and professional party." Meijer added.

Partnership in the spotlight: Van Gerrevink

05 October 2021
Peter Schoenmaker

Our partnership with Van Gerrevink goes back many years. Van Gerrevink is a recycling company that specializes in processing waste streams into valuable raw materials. Over the years we have carried out a major company relocation and various machine relocations. This partnership is a typical two-way alliance. Marc van Gerrevink explains why.

Flexible and reliable

“Our company exists 142 years this year and we have certainly worked together with Albert van de Scheur for the past 50 years. The thing furthest back I can find, is our move from the current city center of Apeldoorn to the South Apeldoorn industrial estate in 1972. Even then, we felt Albert van de Scheur to be a flexible and reliable partner who works accurately,” explains Van Gerrevink.

Recycling

As mentioned, the relationship works both ways. Van Gerrevink recycles machines and packaging that we collect from our customers. Van Gerrevink adds: “Here too it is nice that our people have a short line of communication with Albert van de Scheur's planners. All in all, we do a lot together and we hope to be able to continue this partnership between two great family businesses in Apeldoorn for a long time to come.”

Albert van de Scheur is expanding!

20 September 2021
Peter Schoenmaker

Due to a continuously growing demand for good storage space for machines, we added a third location to our warehouses in 2021, on the Laan van de Maagd in the business park Apeldoorn North. Close to the other locations. Construction started in February and our new warehouse was completed at the beginning of September.

The building has been specially designed to properly store heavy machinery and built according to the latest sustainability standards. This increases our storage capacity by 3300m2, of which 1500m2 is warehouse. The storage space will be used for our own trailers and equipment and for machine storage for our clients. The 12-meter high hall is equipped with a double overhead crane, floor with extra bearing capacity  and a loading dock.

Project in the spotlight: Gelre Hospital Apeldoorn

10 August 2021
Henk van de Zandschulp

The old Combined Heat and Power unit (CHP) in the Gelre Hospital was due for renewal. That is why we replaced it in July. We are the regular supplier for Gelre Hospital for jobs like this one, so they also approached us for this job.

Our employees drove the old CHP unit out on a platform they had built themselves, after which it was lifted out with a lifting gantry. We were then able to lift the old CHP unit down with a mobile crane. Subsequently, the CHP unit was removed by recycling company Van Gerrevink, who has been a permanent partner for years now.

After removing and disposing of the old CHP unit, we hoisted and positioned the new one.

An additional factor to take into account in this project was that the floor cannot be overloaded. This was clear in advance, so we came up with a suitable solution and plan for this.

The project at the Gelre Hospital went according to plan and the customer is satisfied.
